Hyperlink problem in Excel

I used to be able to cut and paste links from my application to excel
spreadsheets and was able to click on the link to access the desired web
pages. Now the cut and pasted links no longer work. I get the following error
in Excel:

"Unable to open http://myapplication/mypage.aspx. Cannot download the
information you requested."

The links will work if I paste them in the IE address bar. If I cut and
paste link to Google in to excel, that link will work without any problem.

I suspect that the redirect in my application is causing this error but I
don't know for sure. I don't know how to resolve the problem either. Any help
from the community is greatly appreciated.

PS: I also posted this in another forum but upon checking that forum, I
found out the forum has not had any question answered for months so I post it
here.

BTW, the link I posted was only for example. I didn't know that such link
actually exists.
