Can rows be inserted without having to manually adjust formulae

Is it possible to insert rows in Excel without having to manually adjust the
formulae
If this operation is carried out usiing MSWorks the formulae extend
themselves to the new value of rows inserted.

Refer to the cell using Indirect

=INDIRECT("A4")
instead of
=A4
