Coming up with all possible combinations that add to a certain sumwithin a set of data
Hello,
I have used the Solver Add-In to come up with combinations before, but one drawback is that (or at least I'm not aware how to) one can only come up with one combination. There may, however, be several combinations that come up with a certain sum. Does anyone know of any Add-Ins or VBA macros that would accomplish this task? Thank you very much! |

not entirely sure, but as far as I know the Solver add-in needs input as to
which cells can be changed in order to get an outcome. If you have multiple variables, changing another variable might give an alternative answer. Perhaps you are asking about the problem when changing one cell can also have alterantive answers, for example with a1^2 where both negative and positive can give correct solutions. Not sure what happens if you try different start values - as I don't know what algorithm is used by the Add-IN.... rdwj "Zarlot" wrote: Hello, I have used the Solver Add-In to come up with combinations before, but one drawback is that (or at least I'm not aware how to) one can only come up with one combination.
