If you are saying that you typed the text string "52.7 (A1)" into a cell,
then formatting it as a number won't turn it into a number, it will still be text. If you want it as a number, you just need the 52.7 -- David Biddulph wrote in message ... hi, i have faced the following problem i entered 52.7 (A1)in a cell but it treated as character. i set this as number after that i put formula "=A1*2" but showed "#VALUE" in that cell . how can i get rid of this problem? bye amit |
