Opening files from Network resource extremely slow
 

I have several hundred users in our Network and everyone is using the Office
2007 Standard and/or Enterprise versions. All of our Excel and Word files are
stored on Shared folders on the network on various servers.
I have several users that are complaining that the access time to pull up
some of the Word and/or Excel files is taking an extremely long time. On the
machines that are having a problem it is taking as much as 5 minutes to pull
up a file, whereas on another computer (computers are the same) it only takes
a few seconds. If they open Word or Excel first the file comes right up. If
they double click on the file using Windows Explorer the access time is as
mentioned above. I have as recommend by KB article 921541 with no luck. Any
suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
