Default Macros will not run in a password protected file office 2007 pro

I have a Excel file that was started in Office 03 that has macros running as
soon as it is opened and it is password protected, then i try to open the
file in office 07, the macros do not run. I am at a lost here, i need the
file to be password protected and run the macros when it is opened. Anyone
have any thoughts?
