Creating a Word filename shortcut in Excel

How can I drag a word file name into Excel and have a shortcut link created?
I can drag the Word filename from My Recent Documents onto the desktop or
into another folder and a shortcut link is created. I would like to be able
to do this into a cell in Excel and have a shortcut link created.

Thank you Gary but when I drag the Word file from My Recent Documents Folder
into a cell in Excel, I get a message WRONG FILE TYPE. By pick a cell and
Insert Hyperlink are you telling me how to create a shortcut. I'm looking to
drag the filename from My Recent Documents and drop it in a cell in Excel
and have the shortcut automatically created for me. Any other suggestions?
