Answer: How to add new currency symbol

Hi Vinod,

Yes, you can definitely add a new currency symbol to the "Number" tab in the format cells dialog box in Excel. Here's how you can do it:
  1. Select the cell or range of cells that you want to format as currency.
  2. Right-click on the selected cells and choose "Format Cells" from the context menu.
  3. In the "Format Cells" dialog box, select the "Number" tab.
  4. In the "Category" list, select "Currency".
  5. In the "Symbol" list, select "More Currency Symbols".
  6. In the "Symbol" dialog box, click on the "New" button.
  7. In the "New Symbol" dialog box, enter the currency symbol you want to add (in your case, "Rs") in the "Symbol" field.
  8. Choose the font, size, and style for the symbol.
  9. Click "OK" to close the "New Symbol" dialog box.
  10. In the "Symbol" dialog box, select the new currency symbol you just created.
  11. Click "OK" to close the "Symbol" dialog box.
  12. Click "OK" to close the "Format Cells" dialog box.

Now, you should be able to see the new currency symbol (Rs) in the "Symbol" list under the "Currency" category in the "Number" tab of the format cells dialog box.
