excel 2003
On friends excel 2003.
When opening one file (f.ex. 123)from desktop, and then opening another file (f.ex. abc) also from desktop the 2nd. file opens in the window of the first opened file and the first is no longer on the screen, but rather minimized. It is not possible to have both open at the same time. If one tries to go through open or open new in file menu, the newly opened file also replaces the original. However, if you go to programs and open the excel program and then open it, now you can have a second file open at the same time. What's wrong. Service pack 2 and 3 just installed. No change. Can you help me. Tahnk you. (both are saved on desktop- not shortcuts) the |

Hello,
It sounds like they are both open at the same time, just not displayed. If you want to display two open workbooks at the same time, goto Windows menu, Arrange, and choose how you want the workbooks displayed.
