xls file works fine in Excel 2000 and 2007 but crashes on opening in 2003

Hi,

I have a 17-sheet file that crashes on opening in Excel 2003, but is
fine on versions 2000 and 2007 (Using XP Pro). Unfortunately, I need
to work on it in 2003. There's no VBA.

I've tried isolating which of the 17 sheets is causing the problem by
systematically copying each sheet to a new book using 2000 then
emailing to the machine with 2003. Oddly, there seems to be several of
the sheets that cause the crash on opening, and several more that
don't...

Also tried using a different 2003 installation on a different machine
- same problem

Any ideas on how to proceed much appreciated...

Graham

Oh, have figured out it was a chart problem. Once I deleted all the
chartobjects from the workbook, it worked OK.

I guess I can live with re-creating these.

Have you tried a second PC with XL 2003? (I'll volunteer - send to private
email -not to the group)
Could be the machine not the actual software
best wishes
