Column Width: cannot adjust
 

I am trying to change the width of a column and everytime I highlight it and
right click for options the menu does not appear. The column is highlighted
and a right down appears in the column is a down arrow.
Any reason why this is happening?

I'm not sure what you mean by the last part of your explanation, but it
could refer to filtering being switched on (Data Autofilter). This
wouldn't stop you altering the column width though.

Another option is that the worksheet is protected (Tools Protection
Protect Sheet which will appear as Unprotect Sheet if it is already
protected).

Again, this wouldn't stop the menu appearing on right-click, but column
width would be disabled (greyed out).

If no menu is appearing, then I can't help (unless you have a faulty mouse
button).
