Userforms too small

Hi-

I'm having a problem - userforms that belong to my Add-Ins are coming
up too small, and since most of them are not resizable, they are not
usable.

It's happening with all of my add-ins.

They are normal, reputable add-ins like ASAP Utilities and Bloomberg's
Excel Add-in.

I tried starting Excel in safe mode. That didn't work. Heck, I've
tried a lot of possible solutions, and none have worked.

Has anybody experienced this??

Thanks -- Jason

That could from changes to the screen resolution on your computer
or getting a new monitor.
The larger the SR numbers the smaller the userform appears.

Jim-

I *did* get a new monitor (!!!)...and that's when the problem
started....

So I tried going back to the old monitor and the forms still appear
small.

And when I say small...I mean they're tiny....like 1/10th of the size
they're supposed to be.

But the text in them and the controls in them are the size that they
are supposed to be, so I can only see the top 10% of the form...

Do you have any suggestions for making this right?

Thanks--jason

Jason,

I think what Jim means is to change the resolution. This will change the size of everything
in Windows. Generally, you want larger numbers with larger monitors, but you can put it
where it works best for you. Start - Control Panel - Display - Settings tab. There's a
slider you can move.

Windows XP only...
I've never seen anything that extreme. So there may be other
issues involved - what I don't know.

However, did you try adjusting the screen resolution for the new
and old monitor to see what you get? You can do that by
right-clicking the desktop and selecting properties.
The SR adjustments are on the "Settings" tab.
(my old monitor had a 600 X 800 setting and its replacement has a
1280 X 1024 setting) - When you switch monitors you have to
change the SR settings.

Also click the "Advanced" button on the same tab and see what the
dpi setting is. (normal?).
On the "Appearance" tab check the setting for Font size.
On that same tab, click the advanced button and find the "Item" dropdown.
That provides a way to change sizes of window frames, borders, icons,
fonts and others components.

I mention all of this because there might be some setting that is way
out of whack that could be contributing to your display problems.

Hi guys-

As a follow-up, the issue was caused by some sort of conflict with a
utility that came with my new graphics card.

I started killing processes until I found that one of them caused the
problem!!

The process is named pdesk.exe, and it's a utility called Matrox
PowerDesk. After disabling this utility in the startup list, I've had
no issues at all!!

Problem Solved. Thanks for your input. - Jason

And thank you for providing the follow-up.
Others may benefit.
