headers and footers

I am trying to refine(format?) a spreadsheet so that the header will only
appear on the first page and the page number will appear in the bottom left
corner from then on, with no header. I am asking it to copy row 1 to the
second page for column headings. It seems to work in Excel 2000 but when I
ask Excel 2002/2003 to do the same thing the header either changes on the
first page or is on all pages. This is not logical. Help.

Douglas,

If you've set up a header or footer (File - Page Setup - Headers and footers tab - Custom
Header button, or Custom Footer button), it will appear on all printed pages. If you have a
header that should appear only on the first page, you might be able to put it at the top of
the sheet, where it will appear only on the first page. You'd then set up page numbers in
the Custom Footer (above), which would appear on all pages.

Some folks prefer bottom-posting.
But if you bottom-post to a reply that's
already top-posted, the thread gets messy.

Do you mean do the header as just typing in the first few rows of the
spreadsheet? The person I am helping to do this doesn't want to do it that
way. The original "spreadsheet" was done in WordPerfect. She REALLY likes
WordPerfect.

Ireally don't understand what you mean by top-posting and bottom-posting--I
just hit the reply key.
