Not sure whether I'm in the right place for this but I hope someone can
either help me out or point me to someone who can. I shared a workbook and all was well until one PC crashed. Since then there have been #VALUE entries in some cells. I removed all users but me, unshared the workbook and repaired the values but cannot save the repaired version unless I use a new filename. I now cannot delete the original (corrupt) version because: "It is being used by another person or program" How do I delete the original and then rename my new version to replace the corrupted one? Thanks |

A network admin should have sufficient rights to delete the old file and
copy in the fixed one giving it the same name. -- Jim "Robbiedoo" wrote in message ... | Not sure whether I'm in the right place for this but I hope someone can | either help me out or point me to someone who can. | | I shared a workbook and all was well until one PC crashed. You'd think so wouldn't you.
It seems that the workbook is corrupted in such a way that nobody can delete it, I wonder if the server thinks that the workbook is in use? I was able to restore a copy from around a month ago (I'm not sure when the corruption occurred) and delete it. I then renamed the updated version as the live copy and all's well but why does this happen? how do I stop it from happening?
