You can use the AutoCorrect feature for this. It will also affect other
Office programs, such as Word: Choose ToolsAutoCorrect Options In the Replace box, type: 1 In the With box, type: one Click OK Type a 1 in a cell, and it will be replace with "one" (if you type the 1 with another character, e.g. 21, it won't change) Brad wrote: i am trying to put the number 1 in a cell and return "one" for every number I input -- Debra Dalgleish Excel FAQ, Tips & Book List http://www.contextures.com/tiptech.html |

Is this a temporary thing? If so change autocorrect to replace 1 with one
Otherwise you would need an event macro that would change it Here's a very good paper on event macros http://www.cpearson.com/excel/events.htm Regards, Peo sjoblom "Brad" wrote: i am trying to put the number 1 in a cell and return "one" for every number I input |
