File in Use...no, it's not.

I have a shortcut for a frequently-used Excel file (Excel 2000). No one else
has access to this file, yet if I try to open it when other Excel documents
are open, it gives me the message: "File in Use".

How can I get rid of that problem?

Maybe
http://contextures.com/xlfaqApp.html#AlreadyOpen
from Debra Dalgleish's site.
