Pivot Table format changes when data is refreshed
I have 12 copies of the same pivot table that keep changing when the data is
refreshed. I unchecked the autoformat as soemone has suggested. The column widths retain their desired width after the refresh. However, I am still required to format the column with word wrap in order to be able to read what's in one of the the columns. Isn't there a way that i can eliminate this extra step? |

Hi
As well as un checking Autoformat, you need to CHECK Preserve Formatting -- Regards Roger Govier "Bendinblues" wrote in message ... Pivot Table format changes when data is refreshed
Roger,
Preserve Formatting is checked. When the pivot tables get refreshed, the column widths are retained, but I need to format columns with word wrap in order for me to be able to read all of the text. Pivot Table format changes when data is refreshed
Hi
Yes I understand what you are saying. If I highlight the relevant cells on my PT, an choose Format cellsAlignmentword wrap and then set the PT options as described, my headings stay wrapped even after updating. What version on Excel are you using? -- Regards Roger Govier "Bendinblues" wrote in message ... Roger, Preserve Formatting is checked. Pivot Table format changes when data is refreshed
Now everything is real screwy! I'm using Excel 2003 SP3. If I choose relevant column and select word wrap, text wraps as expected. then when I select prerserve formatting, text goes back to unwrapped state, even before i refresh any data. What's going on? Pivot Table format changes when data is refreshed
Hi
My suspicion in SP3. I haven't loaded it yet. On my wife's machine, she had problems with Outlook after loading SP3. Restoring to a point before SP3 was loaded removed the problem. If you want to send me a copy of your file direct, I will load in on my SP2 version to see if it behaves OK. To mail direct roger at technology4u dot co dot uk Do the obvious with at and dots. -- Regards Roger Govier "Bendinblues" wrote in message ... Now everything is real screwy! I'm using Excel 2003 SP3.
