Switchiing off On-line help

Every time I go for help, Excel decides to go online which takes ages. I want
it to only look in the help file on the PC. How do I force this?

You may want the help topic: "Turn Microsoft Office Online featured links on
or off".

Excel version? If 2003 you can do toolsoptionsgeneral and select "Service
Options", then select online content and deselect "Show content and links
from Microsoft Office Online. That will give you the help that is installed
on your computer

That drives me nuts too. Hit F1, then you should see Online Contents Setting,
click that then uncheck everything.
