Its a useful function to be awar of; press ALT + H then M and then C. Its a
useful new way that they are adding easier to use shortcuts in 07.

I hesitate to answer, since merged cells are the spawn of the devil and
shouldn't be used at all. Not even once.

I don't have WinXL in front of me right now, but in XL04, I can use
CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-M.

Oops, that's a shortcut I added using Tools/Customize/Customize
Keyboard...

In windows there is no particular shortcut either (fortunately) unless one
calls tapping around using the menu keys like Ctrl + 1, right arrow, tab 4
times then m
