Its a useful function to be awar of; press ALT + H then M and then C. Its a

I hesitate to answer, since merged cells are the spawn of the devil and

Oops, that's a shortcut I added using Tools/Customize/Customize

In windows there is no particular shortcut either (fortunately) unless one
