why does more than one file open when i open existing XLS file
 

I have the new version of XLS and now when i open an existing file it opens a
"Book1" file and the existing file...now I have to close two files every time
i close...

Also, when i close with the top right "X" it just closes the file and
doesn't exit Excel...can i change that back to shut the whole thing down when
i hit the big "X"
