# of characters visible from a linked cell
Hi All,
I am asking this question on behalf of a colleague, so have not conducted much investigation into it myself (is year end = busy here). It appears that only 255 characters are displayed in a cell that is linked to another worksheet. Is this a problem? Is there a workaround? TIA and Regards Matt |

If that other worksheet is in a different workbook and that different workbook
is closed, then yep, you'll only see 255 characters. But if that "sending" workbook is open, your colleague will see all the text returned. That's the way excel works with closed files. veryeavy wrote: Hi All, I am asking this question on behalf of a colleague, so have not conducted much investigation into it myself (is year end = busy here).
