Naming ranges?
 

Hi,

I have no problem naming ranges of cells in XL. However, I have the
following scenario that I can't find a solution to:

Imagine you have 5 identical worksheets. You want to highlight a data range
which is also indentical in each worksheet.

Can you create 1 range name that applies to a range of cells on each
worksheet, rather than having to create 5 different named ranges (1 for each
worksheet)?

It is odd because if you have 1 worksheet, name a range, and then make 4
copies, they will all have the same range under the same name - so it must be
possible to do it the other way around?

You might say: if they are identical, then go back to just one, create the
named range, and then make 4 copies to get the 5 sheets. However this is not
feasible for me for reasons I can't really go into (work related).

I hope the above makes sense to people.

I only have XL2003 on my PC, so I'm not sure if this
works in earlier versions:

1. Press Ctrl+F3 and type in a defined name.
2. Click in the "Refers To:" box.
3. Delete what's in there.
4. While holding down the <Shift key, select the range
on the first sheet, click the second sheet tab, select
the same range, and continue on to the last sheet.
5. Press OK.
