input box
Is there a way to link an input box with a pull down menu.
For example: I have created a pull down menu with three options: a b c Now I was able to go into data validation and input a message. but, can I have a separate message for each pull down item so.... when a is selected a specific input message pops up only with a when b is selected a specific input message pops up only with b and so on. |

You would need sheet event code to achieve that.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) If Intersect(Target, Me.Range("A1")) Is Nothing Then Exit Sub On Error GoTo endit Application.EnableEvents = False Select Case Target.Value Case "a" MsgBox "message one" Case "b" MsgBox "message two" Case "c" MsgBox "message three" End Select endit: Application.EnableEvents = True End Sub This is event code. Right-click on the sheet tab and "View Code" Copy/paste the code into that sheet module. Adjust the "A1" to your DV cell. Also edit the msgbox "messages" Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Tue, 2 Oct 2007 14:08:08 -0700, abby and rusty <abby and wrote: Is there a way to link an input box with a pull down menu.
