Count matching text in column
I have a list of four thousand jobs in a column. Some of the jobs run only
once, some of the jobs run 9 times. There are at least 1000 different jobs. How can I set up a table showing how many jobs (in text) ran once, twice.....up to eight? Thanks |
Count matching text in column
Hi Tom
The easiest way would be a Pivot Table. Assuming your column has a header of say Job Number Mark your columnDataPivot TableFinish Drag Job Number to the Row area of the Pivot Table skeleton Drag Job Number again to the Data area. If it shows as Sum of Job Number, double click on that heading and choose Count. -- Regards Roger Govier "Tom" wrote in message ... I have a list of four thousand jobs in a column.
