Time Out feature for shared access file

I have users who share the use of a single Excel file. When it is use they
get a message about the file being locked, or read only, etc.

Is there a way to setup a timeout feature, so that if the user who has the
document open forgets to close it, or leaves it open indefintely, that it can
release that session and force them out?

Clicking on TOOLS/SHARE WORKBOOK might alleviate the problem of lock down.
On the advance tab you can set some autosave and conflict resolution
settings, as well as history setting for the workbook.
