Shared workbook, on network, file lock
 

At work 4 or 5 of us use a workbook continuously during the day. Coworker
got up and "locked" his computer. I tried saving for over 10 minutes but it
said file locked by ".". He came back and when he unlocked his machine I
tried again and I could save the wkbk. He did nothing other than unlock the
machine.

So besides the "can't save while others are saving" is this normal Excel
behavior? What other instances can this file lock occur?
