As u can see in Templates provided with MS excel some button , functions and range of cell is disable for that particular sheet the user is restricted to perform only specific task. waiting deliberately for replies. |

Perhaps you mean locking cells. All cells are locked by default, but that only becomes invoked if you set Protection on for the sheet. Select the range of cells that you want the user to be able to enter data and FormatCellsProtectionremove check mark from locked. ToolsProtectionProtect Sheet The user will now only be able to enter values in the cells from which you removed protection. (You don't have to set a password, but if you do make sure you remember it - although it is not totally secure as there are many publicly quoted methods for Password removal) -- Regards Roger Govier "NAEEM" wrote in message ... can u please check any template Filenewtemplate u will see the cells completly disable even u cant click no them and some formating tools are also dissabled awaiting reply best regards M.
