Comparing two worksheets
 

Hello,

I need a formula to compare two different sheets and to copy the data in the
sheet 1 to sheet 2 only if its matching with the respective data.

To be clear let me put you in this way....

Sheet 1:

A1 E1
1224577 XYZ
1224388 ABD
1168708 SDF
1180005 RFG

Data in column E is entered manually

Sheet 2:

A1 E1

1224577
1548752
1224388
1545032
1234555
1168708
1180005
1453212

Now I need a formula to compare these two sheets and the data entered in
column E of sheet 1 shoulld be copied to the respective cells in column E of
sheet 2 only if the numbers in the column A is matching in both the sheets.

In Sheet2:

E1: =IF(ISNA(MATCH(A1, Sheet1!A:A, FALSE)), "", VLOOKUP(A1,
Sheet1!A:E, 5, FALSE)
