Row headings have changed from letters to numbers. How do I undo?
 
My Row headings in excel have changed from letters to numbers - making the
formulas complicated to look at, to say the least.

How do I change it back?

Even new blank worksheets have the numbers on instead of the letters.

open excell

goto tools then options

in the general tab , take out the tick from the R1C1 settings box

Try,

Tools|options|general and un-check R1C1.
