Default Paste Issues- HELP

When I paste a selection from RoboHelp (a help-authoring program we have),
the text goes into multiple Excel cells. When I go to format for Word Wrap,
the Merge selection has a grayed-out check mark. Any ideas how to overcome
that?

Instead of just pasting, try PasteSpecialValue.

And this will make the Word Wrap box become selectable and not grayed out?

Have you tried to click the check box? Try it regardless how it looks, you
might have to click twice

Depending on your selection, the merge checkbox can be:
checked -- all the cells are merged into one area
unchecked -- none of the cells are merged
grey check (or green box) -- some are merged, some are not (not one area).

If you want the copied data to go into one cell, then paste into the formula
bar.

Merge checkbox is also gray and un-clickable.

Is the worksheet protected?
Is the workbook shared?

Yes we tried that. What worked was pasteing text into the formula bar.

Yes, it is shared. Is that why the Word Wrap and merge checkboxes were not
available?

Search Excel's help for "Features that are unavailable in shared workbooks"

You'll see a long list.

But Wrap text is not one of those formatting options that's affected by sharing
the workbook--but it is disabled if you protect the worksheet.
