Hi,
just select the cells where you want to do the reemoval, then from menu Edit, Substitute in the Find field digit - and leave blank the field Substitue with. Then click on Substitute All. -- (I'm not sure of names of menus, options and commands, because translating from the Italian version of Excel...) Hope I helped you.
