Can't Filter in Excel 2003
I am opening a file that opens in Internet Explorer as an Microsoft Excel
spreadsheet. I have microsoft excel 2003 installed on my machine. When I try and choose Data-Filter, this option is greyed out and I can't filter my data. However, if I save the spreadsheet and then open it directly in Excel, I can filter the data. Any ideas? When others open the file it opens it in Internet Explorer as an Excel spreadsheet and they can choose the filter option. Is there a setting on this? Thanks |

Save the file to your desktop or mydocs and then open it. You should be able
to filter from there Frank "duketter" wrote: I am opening a file that opens in Internet Explorer as an Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. I have microsoft excel 2003 installed on my machine. Yes, that works, but I am wondering why I have to save it first to do this,
while the others it works fine (they can choose the filter option). I also can't click on the tools options. I shouldn't have to save it first.
