How do I rename files that are related.
I have a group of spread sheets that I use as templates. They are saved
under different file names in the same folder. This group of files is then used on subsequent job orders. I would like to re name the files to the individual job order numbers so they are more descriptive. When I rename the files I lose the relationship and the fields in the corresponding files not not up date. |

If you mean that you have links between the templates, then open them
all and use File | Save As on each template in turn, giving the appropriate name that you want. Then go through each in turn and Save it again (with the new name). Then you can close all the files. If you need to do this many times, then perhaps you can record a macro when you do it once, and edit it slightly to enable you to specify the job order each time. Then just re-run the macro in the future on the original files. Hope this helps. Pete On Aug 30, 10:34 pm, FinnSchH2 wrote: I have a group of spread sheets that I use as templates. This worked. Great. Can you give me some help on writing the macro.
