Can i count how many letters A from cell e10 to sell h10 ?

i need to count all value countin letter a .
I have attendence sheet and I alwayes put letter p for present student and
letter a for student who is absent . So in the total list of absenties i
have to count how many "A" place of "p"

Can i count how many letters A from cell e10 to sell h10 ?
 

Try: =COUNTIF(E10:H10,"A")

For info, the expression is not case sensitive
