excel size limit?

I have a computer with 2gigs memory and over 3Ghz cpu, but when I have a
70mb spreadsheet open and I then try to simultaneously open a 50mb
speadsheet I get a window message that says I do not have the available
resources to do so. Might this be an excel limit, or something going on
with the OS?

The size of the document is not what Excel needs to use into the PC memory.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del and see the amount of memory that Excel is using. Unless
you have Excel 2007, I believe that the maximum amount Excel can use is 1 GB.
