Files saved as Workspace

I have a user who saved some files as Workspace files and now can't access
them. Is there any way I can recover her work?

Files saved as Workspace

How is user attempting to open the workspace files?

What is the message given when she is prevented from accessing the workspace or
a single file?

She is attempting to open the files via the File menu. The message is "file
not found."

The workspace file has an XLW extension and if selected to open via FileOpen
all workbooks in the workspace should open together.

If this is the method she uses?

Did she have multiple files open when she saved as a workspace?

Can she access the individual files that make up the workspace?

I have very little experience or need for workspace feature so hope someone can
jump in here with more help.

I think she saved individual worksheets as workspaces. If you try to access
them via FileOpen it just gives you a message that the file cannot be found.

I am afraid that she saved the worksheet settings only but not the data. I
have no experience with workspaces, so this is just a guess on my part.

Too many "thinks" and "guesses".

First of all, you cannot save a worksheet.

You can only save a workbook which can have one or more worksheets.

A single workbook or multiple workbooks can be saved as a workspace.

Second........she goes to FileOpen and selects a file from the list in the
folder but gets the message that the file cannot be found. Is this correct?

Or is she selecting a file to open from the MRU list under "File"?

If so, perhaps she has deleted, renamed or moved those files from their original
location that the MRU points to.
