reconciliation in different currencies

I would like to create a reconliiation of income and expenditure where I can
press a button (or choose from a drop-down menu) and the numbers
automatically will convert to their equivalent in Euros or US$. Is this
possible in Excel?

Hi,

Select cell A1 on a worksheet then

Data|Import external data|Import data
select
MSN MoneyCentral Incvestor currency rates.iqy

The sheet will fill with all the latest exchange rates which cna be
referenced for your conversions.

Yes, it's possible in Excel.

The simplest way, but which doesn't meet the button or drop-down menu criteria,
is to put the exchange rate in a common cell (say A1).

In all your calculations, you simply multiply by $A$1.

If you still want to get more complicated than this, you will need to identify
your home currency (ie, what currency has an exchange rate of 1.0000). Is it EUR
or USD or something else? Then you enter the exchange rate from this home
currency.
