Separating names

Can a column of names (last name, first name) be split into two columns, one
for the last nams and the other for the first name?

Separating names

Assume that the name is cell A1.

For first name type this formula in Cell B1
=MID(A1,1,FIND(" ",A1,1)-1)

For last name type this formula in Cell C1
=MID(A1,FIND(" ",A1,1)+1,LEN(A1))

The above formula assumes that there is only 1 blank/space between first and
last name.
