Linking formula to external spreadsheet
I am trying to link a sumif formula to an external spreadsheet and when the
external spreadsheet is open it works no problem. However, as soon as I close the external spreadsheet and refresh the data it shows only #VALUE!. This is very frustrating, is there anyway to get rid of this and have the link work properly. Where I have linked to an external spreadsheet using = and linking to a specific cell the problem does not exist. |
If your formula included =indirect(), then I would have guessed you would have
gotten a #ref! error. (=indirect() won't work with closed workbooks.) Harlan Grove wrote a userdefined function called =Pull() that will do what you want. http://www.google.com/groups?selm=sH...wsranger. com If you're new to macros, you may want to read David McRitchie's intro at: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm Tunde wrote: I am trying to link a sumif formula to an external spreadsheet and when the external spreadsheet is open it works no problem.
