Find external data
 

I have a workbook that prompts me about external data everytime i save
it. There should be no external data. How do I find and remove these
sources?

It may be the result of moving sheets from one workbook to another, I
have attempted to update all formulas to reference only sources in the
current workbook. I just find and replaced [old workbook] with
nothing. I still get the pesky prompt.

one way to find formulas with external references is to use find and search
for "[" which is used in the external reference formula

Thanks, I have tried the search for "[" with no luck, I also tried
the findlink program with no luck. What about data imported from the
web? is there a way to determine any such import? or what if the
import is coming from a named range? (i have many named ranges, some
of which i am not sure what they do since other people have
contributed to the workbook).

Any further thoughts?

Actually, that was it... There was a reference in a named range (or
rather a #ref!)

They were probably reminants of a past functions which are no longer
needed.
