I'm guessing here that you access this group via your browser and you think
that that in some way has broken something such that you can no longer
access hotmail via your browser? Are you sure that your IT folks haven't
simply locked down access to Webmail, as this is one of the easiest ways to
bypass a corporate firewall and get a virus into the company.

Have a chat with your IT folks before you touch anything.

Interestingly, I came upon a legitimate way of getting round that - I worked
for a company recently where they did just that. However, my domain, mail
and website host don't use the phrase "Webmail" on their site - so I was
able to log into my account with them and "read mail" even though "Web mail"
had been locked down!
