formula lock
hi,
is there a way once you enter a formula to lock it.... so no one can change it, or accidentaly delete it by entering data, etc?? thanks! |
formula lock
you can protect the sheet so that any cell with protection selected can not
be changed. tools.protection .protect sheet. what you really need to do is to select the cells which are not to be selected and turn off protection for the cells before you protect the sheet "carrie" wrote: hi, is there a way once you enter a formula to lock it.... so no one can change it, or accidentaly delete it by entering data, etc?? thanks! |

Kind of....
You can lock the cell (and unlock the cells that the user should be able to change). Use format|Cells|Protection tab to toggle that setting And then protect the worksheet (tools|protection|protect sheet) You may want to test this a bit. There are lots of things that won't work on a protected sheet. carrie wrote: hi, is there a way once you enter a formula to lock it.... so no one can change it, or accidentaly delete it by entering data, etc?? thanks! -- Dave Peterson |
