Checking formula type (reference to other worksheet or not)

In the worksheet cells I have two types of formulas: references to
another worksheet or summing cells within this worksheet.

Is there a formula to tell those two apart?

TIA, topola

I'm not sure if this will help, but references to a different file include
the "[" and "]" characters.

Fred, thanx for your help.
The formula looks like this:
=othersheetname!A1
and "!" sign would be sufficient for testing.

I don't know however how to operate on the formula, not on the cell
value.
