Compare text in cell to custom text format??
Hi guys, I have a list of shipment codes e.g. 06G271, 06G272, 06G273
etc. Occasionnally, I get a shipment code that has an additional letter as a suffix e.g. 06G273A . The suffix is always the letter A. I have the list of codes setup in column A. In column B, i would like a formula to check whether the shipment code in the same row has this additional suffix and if so print it into column B, and then if it doesn't just leave the cell blank. e.g. If A1 is 06G271 then B1 would be blank because it has no suffix. If A2 is 06G271A then i would want B2 to display 06G271A. Any ideas? Regards, Tom Pritchard |

Try this formula in column B:
=IF(RIGHT(A1,1)="A",A1,"") ....where cell A1 contains the shipping code to be tested. You can copy/ paste that into the remaining cells in column B as needed. Dave O |
