WHEN I ENTER A NUM SUCH AS 100.00 IT SHOWS UP AS 100. OR 100.10 AS 100.1 HOW
DO YOU FORMAT TO GET EXCEL TO LEAVE THE ZERO,S AFTER THE DECIMAL?

Select the cell(s) in question
Goto the menu FormatCellsNumber tab

Select Number and set Decimal places to 2
OK out

Type 100 in the cell and it will now display as 100.00
Type 100.1 in the cell and it will now display as 100.10
Type 100.235 in the cell and it will display as 100.24

Note that when you FORMAT the *display* of a cell the cells TRUE underlying
value is what you actually typed in. So, 100.24 is *displayed* but the TRUE
value of the cell is 100.235. This is where people get messed up when
downstream calculations don't seem to add up.

Hi,

You do this way too. It is much more easier and faster.

Do the following:

1. Click a cell in the worksheet.
€¢ On the Format menu, click the Cell command or Press Ctrl 1. The Format
Cells dialog box is displayed.
€¢ Click the Number tab.
€¢ In the Category list, by default the General is selected.
2. Enter a value. For example 100
€¢ On the Format menu, click the Cell command or Press Ctrl 1. The Format
Cells dialog box is displayed.
€¢ Click the Number tab.
€¢ In the Category list, the Number is selected with two decimal.
3. On the Standard toolbar, Double-click the Format Painter icon.
4. Highlight the number of cells you want to select to type the new values.
5. Press the Esc key, to reset the mouse pointer to arrow pointer

Note: You can the Standard toolbar to increase or decrease the decimal points.

Sorry, in the previous procedure, the step 3 is wrong. Please follow the
changed procedu

You do this way too. It is much easier control the value in the cell.

Do the following:

€¢ Click the Number tab.
€¢ In the Category list, by default the General is selected.
2. Enter a value. For example 100
€¢ On the Format menu, click the Cell command or Press Ctrl 1. The Format
Cells dialog box is displayed.
€¢ Click the Number tab.
€¢ In the Category list, the Number is selected with two decimal.
3. On the Formatting toolbar, click the increase Decimal to a decimal to the
number.
4. On the Standard toolbar, Double-click the Format Painter icon.
5. Highlight the number of cells you want to select to type the new values.
6. Press the Esc key, to reset the mouse pointer to arrow pointer

Note: In the Standard toolbar, use the "increase decimal" or "decrease
decimal" to add or reduce the decimal points to a numeric value.
