If you have another option that uses the alt-e as the accelerator/shortcut key,
then each time you hit alt-e, you'll toggle between options. So keep watching the skies, er, toolbars, and hit alt-e a few times and watch gets selected. You may want to hit alt-e, then enter to invoke that menu/option. It may help you find the item with the duplicate accelerator key. dee wrote: Hi, Alt + F, etc. all work to open my menus, but Alt + E simply selects the Edit menu, but doesn't open it. Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply. OK, I did what you said, and sure enough, it seems to also be used to select a Text to Columns button I added to my toolbar. How do I "reset" it so that it only open the Edit menu and no longer refers to anything else? Thanks! -- Thanks! You could remove the "text to columns..." icon from your toolbar <vbg.
Or you could do this: Tools|Customize (just to see that dialog) rightclick on the "Text to Columns..." icon Change the name from: T&ext to columns... to Text to columns... The & is an indicator to use the next key as the accelerator key. You'd see the e underlined in the caption. dee wrote: Hi Dave, Thanks for your reply.
