files open twice
hi all -
thanks in advance for any help on this. i have about 10 computers in our office. all just upgraded to office2007. it seems now more then half of them have a strange issue. whenever a user opens an excel file it opens but it opens twice . for some larger spreadsheets this comsumes system resources and bogs down the system . once both fully open you can close one but can't seem to find why it opens the file twice? any ideas? thanks again jon |

If it weren't Excel 2007 I say just re-register Excel, but I'm not sure that
works with the newest version (that=running with the /regserver command line parameter). I'd guess if you went to this key with RegEdit: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Excel.Sheet.8\shell\Open\command (or 12 if you're referring to XLSX files) you'll find a %1 at the end of the Default value. Edit that out if so. If you see it at the end of the "command" value do that too. -- Jim "jon z" wrote in message ... | hi all - | thanks in advance for any help on this. | i have about 10 computers in our office. all just upgraded to office2007. | it seems now more then half of them have a strange issue. | whenever a user opens an excel file it opens but it opens twice . for some | larger spreadsheets this comsumes system resources and bogs down the system . | once both fully open you can close one but can't seem to find why it opens | the file twice? | any ideas? | thanks again | jon |
