I have a spreadsheet that needs updating twice weekly. The information comes
from an outside source so I have to save it down and then cut and paste the data I need. Is there a way of using a macro etc for this or am I stuck cutting and pasting and losing the will to live!! Cheers Also, I create reports evrey week on this data. Anybody got any suggestions of new report techniques using excel? My are starting to bore the hell out of me! |

Can we have a little more information like example data structure, type and where it needs to go (same cell ranges each time, next available blank row or a new sheet... etc) There are a number of ways to do this. In what format does it arrive on your machine? well if your sheet is EXACTLY the same format each time, and the received sheet is EXACTLY the same format each time, just set up links in your sheet to it. it will take some time to do, but you only need to do it once. then when you receive the next sheet, save it in the same location as the previous, and all your data will automatically update with no need for any copying and pasting.... |

The data comes in as costs, in monthly periods against category. I also have
a differnt sheet for each area, e.g north east etc. I created a new excel file where i put the information and to simplify it I just put it into a column. Hope this is enough info. My computer knowledge is limited. Cheers "Ginetta" wrote: On Jul 14, 9:32 am, Buyone wrote: Its from another excel spreadsheet. It has the same format every time. Thanks Gordon. I think I can get it to work that way. Just a little
manipulation and I'm paste free! Now on to outlook and how to save down the files automatically so I don't have to do that either! "Gordon" wrote: Buyone wrote: Its from another excel spreadsheet.
