I used to be able to use the forward and back buttons on my mouse but
somehow that got disabled. Do you know how to activate that feature?

Most of the world doesn't have "forward and back" buttons on their mice.
Perhaps you may review how your mouse got set up to do this, and
re-enable that feature!
