Excel 2007 rows & columns

I have 2007 on my computer and it has 65536 rows and 256 columns, just like
the 2002 version I had before. How do I get the full 2007 rows and columns?
Thank you for your time. Jim

Create a new workbook. Or save the old xls workbook in the new format.

Existing .xls files made with earlier versions will open in compatibility
mode with the same row/column limits as the version they were created in.

New files created in 2007 and saved in 2007 format(s) will (should) have the
extended limits.
